We publish children’s books through our Romeo Forbes Story Writing Competition and donate these to underprivileged communities through our 1 Million Books for 1 Million Filipino Children Campaign.

We also hold art exhibitions at our gallery and mount other creatives activities through our Looking for Juan Program. Moreover, we organize TEDxDiliman as a venue to share ideas worth spreading.

The Center for Art, New Ventures & Sustainable Development (CANVAS) is a non-profit organization that works with the creative community to promote children’s literacy, explore national identity, and deepen public appreciation for Philippine art, culture, and the environment.

The 1 Million Books for 1 Million Filipino Children Campaign donates our award-winning books to public schools, hospitals, and disadvantaged communities throughout the country with the aim of inspiring children to love reading.

This campaign also promotes independent reading and creative thinking to children by exposing them to the best of contemporary Filipino art and literature.

To date, CANVAS has given away some 100,000 books to children from Batanes to Zamboanga!

One of the ways we raise funds for our 1 Million Books for 1 Million Filipino Children Campaign is through merchandise.

From art cards to journals; from coasters to calendars; and from bags to special shawls, among others, we customize unique and artful corporate gifts featuring artwork images by some of the best contemporary Filipino artists!
